Why is it that whenever we try to mount a persuasive argument, we always try to compare "our best" people with "their worst" people. This question was part of the lecture series by Brian McLaren at Montview Presbyterian Church on Friday night.
I have lived in Denver since November, 2007, when I moved here with my partner to be the pastor of Park Hill Congregational Church. I served as the pastor of a revitalizing urban United Church of Christ in Cleveland for 15 years. I was ordained the first openly gay pastor called by a church in Ohio in 1993 and wrote my doctor of ministry dissertation on Openly Gay and Lesbian Pastors Called by Predominantly Straight UCC Congregations (a study involving 62 congregations and 59 pastors). I grew up on a farm in North Dakota and love music and watching shows like Project Runway, Survivor, and The Amazing Race.
